Coach Terrace Dunbar is in his second season as a Varsity coach assigned to the defensive line. He has contributed to the Hurricane program on the lower levels for 5 seasons as the head coach of freshman and as a JV assistant coach. Dunbar a 1992 graduate of Manatee high school played on the 1991 nationally-ranked Hurricanes team at Running back. Dunbar’s name is in the history book amongst a list of 1,000-yard rushers playing alongside teammates Tommie Frazier, Tyrone Williams, and Shevin Wiggins.
Dunbar played two seasons as a defensive back for Dodge City Community college in Dodge City, Ks from 1992-1994. He would start both seasons for the Conquistadors earning 1st team all Jayhawk Conference honors and finish second in the conference with pass breakups. His performance in the Jayhawk conference earned a scholarship to play division one football for the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, Louisiana after earning an associate’s degree in Dodge City.
He went on to play two years as a starter as a cornerback in Monroe finishing with all First team Independent honors both years. Dunbar’s name goes in the Louisiana Monroe’s record books as having two game-saving plays against the University of Kentucky and Mississippi State and finished as the MVP of the defense his senior year.
Coach Dunbar has a Bachelor’s Degree in public Relations and Marketing from the University of Louisiana Monroe, a Masters in Organizational leadership from Argosy University, and currently pursuing a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership.
He is a Father of Four, A son Deterrace; twin Girls Iyana and Kiana, and youngest daughter Terryn.
