Manatee Falls Short on Season Opener to Gulliver Prep

BRADENTON, FL It's not the way the Hurricanes wanted to open the season, but despite the disappointing loss, a lot was learned. After shaking off the off season jitters the Hurricanes stepped up and played toe to toe with the Gulliver Prep Raiders who are ranked as one of the top 25 teams in the state. The game ended with final score being the Raiders 20 and the Hurricanes 7. This score definitely did not reflect the effort by the Hurricanes. The Canes were literally two drops away from a victory. Going up against a team of this size and talent only strengthens the team to prepare for next weeks battle against the Lakeland Dreadnoughts in Lakeland.
